UpCounting started with a simple question between three friends.
What if an accounting firm truly cared about its clients, and its people?
Abir, Max, and Jonathan began their careers at EY on the same day. Years later, after walking different paths across the accounting world, they reunited to build something better.
They had seen it all: outdated systems, short-term thinking, and environments where people felt like numbers. They believed there had to be a better way to support growing businesses and to build a company culture where people feel valued, trusted, and empowered.
So they created UpCounting, a modern accounting firm that helps ecommerce brands grow and builds that same mindset internally.
Today, we’re a fully remote, global team supporting 7-8 figure DTC brands with eCommerce financial expertise. We prioritize clarity, ownership, and growth not just for our clients, but for every person who joins our team.

Observe the major statutory holidays based on your country of residence. When it is a public holiday for you, it is a day off for you with no need to use your PTO!
Referral Bonus Program
If you join our team and refer someone amazing, you’ll receive a cash bonus once they’re hired and complete probation. There is no limit to how many referrals you can make or how much you can earn!

Work with a flexible schedule. We overlap at least 60% with EST hours to enable conversations and meetings, but we trust you to manage your time effectively.

🎤 Our Hiring Process
Our hiring steps are designed to respect your time while helping us understand whether we are a great fit for each other.
If you are invited to the first interview, you will also receive our Candidate Pack to help set you up for success.
Our goal is to wrap up the hiring process within 3–4 weeks. Sometimes life (and deadlines) get in the way, but we’ll keep you updated and be as transparent as possible. Here’s the timeline we aim for.
If selected you'll be invited to:
1 - First Interview
A 15 min video interview with People Operations. Nothing to prep, the call will be focused around vlaues and experience fit.
2 - Quick Assessment
If the first call goes well, we will send you a short assessment that won’t take longer than 1–3 hours to complete. This assessment is focused on role skills and problem-solving abilities.
3 - Final Interview
If your assessment goes well, you will be invited to a final 30min to 1h video interview with a member of our leadership team or one of the co-founders. This is a chance to dive deeper into the role, ask questions, and ensure it’s a good fit for both sides!
4 - Offer Letter
If the final call went well, you’ll hear from us within 1-5 days with an official offer. This is the exciting part; your journey with us might be about to begin!

🚀 How we support your growth
Monthly Coffee Chats
Once a month, you’ll have a 1:1 with People Operations. It’s not about your tasks or deadlines—it’s about you! How are things going? What’s been working? What’s felt off? We talk through your wins, your challenges, and how we can better support you. Whether that means helping you clear blockers, recognizing your efforts, or simply listening, this is one of the ways we make sure no one feels overlooked.
Regular Check-Ins with Your Manager
These 1:1s are your space to talk openly with your manager about how things are going, what’s working, and where you’re facing challenges. They’re also a chance to reflect on your wins and get the support you need to do your best work. If you have goals for growth, whether it’s learning something new, taking on more responsibility, or evolving your role, this is where you can share them and map out what it will take to get there.
Mid-Year Performance Check-Ins
Halfway through the year, we take a step back and look at the bigger picture. This is a chance to reconnect with your goals, reflect on what you’ve accomplished, and identify what support you need to keep growing. You’ll gather feedback, spot areas for improvement, and realign with your manager before heading into the second half of the year.
Performance Evaluations in Q4
At the end of the year, we run structured performance evaluations that are fair, thoughtful, and focused on your future. You’ll receive clear feedback from the people you’ve worked with, talk through next steps with your manager, and walk away with a stronger sense of direction, impact, and opportunity. This is also when we review compensation, consider performance-based increases and/or bonuses, and evaluate promotions.
